NCPD Officer David Winslette Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction
On Saturday, January 14, 2012, North Charleston Police Officer David Winslette responded to a call for service, while working night shift, and as a result, was shot in the line of duty. Officer Winslette was shot in the chest and leg by the suspect. Officer Winslette is very fortunate in that he was wearing his protective body armor and his life was spared by this cowardly act. He has a long road to recovery and faces up to a year out of work due to his injuries.
The Fraternal Order of Police, Tri-County Lodge # 3, along with fellow officers have recognized the need to assist our brother in need and are organizing a benefit dinner & silent auction, in which ALL proceeds will go directly to Dave.
WHAT: Spaghetti Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction
WHEN: Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 5pm-9pm
WHERE: North Charleston High School Gymnasium 1087 East Montague Avenue North Charleston, SC 29405
COST: $10 per person. Tickets can be obtained in advance from NCPD Officers Matt Woodall and Anthony Dipaolo or from Hanahan Fine Wine & Spirits located at 1238 Yeamans Hall Road Hanahan, SC. Tickets will also be available at the door to the event.

Membership Renewal Incentive Drawing
Membership renewal letters will be going out to all members in the next few weeks. Everyone who renews their membership prior to March 1, 2012 will be entered into a drawing to win an Apple IPad. Membership Appreciation Drawing
The annual drawing was held at the Christmas party and the winner of the 42 inch LCD television was Alice Lang. Congrats Alice. As a reminder all members can receive entries for this drawing each time you attend a meeting, volunteer for a lodge function or recruit a new member. At the 2012 Christmas party we will be having a drawing for a 60 inch or larger television.
Lodge Committees
With the new year approaching the lodge is looking for members to volunteer for various committees. The committees of immediate concern are the Law Enforcement Appreciation Night (Superbowl Party) and the Memorial. If you are interested in joining a committee please send an email to eboard@scfop3.org We will also be asking for volunteers at our next regular business meeting on Monday January 9, 2012.
